Centrality dependence of K+ flow in 58Ni + 58Ni collisions at 1.91A GeV measured with FOPI detector

چکیده
Kaon production in Ni + Ni heavy-ion collisions at 1.91A GeV was measured by the FOPI collaboration at the heavy-ion synchrotron (SIS) at GSI making use of the newly installed MMRPC barrel [1]. Sub-threshold kaon production is expected to provide valuable insight into the properties of hadrons at high density [2]. The kaon-nucleon potential is expected to enhance the in-medium effective mass for K and to reduce the effective mass for K− if the system becomes more dense. Thus, the production of a K will require more energy while the production of a K− will require less energy in a dense system. Furthermore, the repulsive kaon-nucleon potential tends to make kaons flow away from nucleons and the attractive antikaon-nucleon potential is expected to let anti-kaons flow similar to nucleons. Since the magnitude of these medium effects on charged kaons depends on the strength of the kaon-nucleon potential [2], in principle it is possible to deduce this strength from the measurement of charged kaon flow in heavy-ion collisions.

Strange and multistrange particle production in Au plus Au collisions at root s(NN)=62.4 GeV
We present results on strange and multistrange particle production in Au + Au collisions at √ s NN = 62.4 GeV as measured with the STAR detector at RHIC. Midrapidity transverse momentum spectra and integrated yields of K 0 S , , , and and their antiparticles are presented for different centrality classes. The particle yields and ratios follow a smooth energy dependence. Chemical freeze-out para...
متن کاملCentrality dependence of hyperon global polarization in Au+Au collisions at RHIC
We present the centrality dependence of Λ and Λ̄ hyperon global polarization in Au+Au collisions at √ sNN = 62 GeV and 200 GeV measured with the STAR detector at RHIC. Within the precision of the measurement, we observe no centrality dependence of Λ and Λ̄ hyperon global polarization and within our acceptance it is consistent with zero. Different sources of systematic uncertainties (feed down eff...
متن کاملStrange hadron ( K 0 S , Λ and Ξ ) elliptic flow from 200 GeV
Collective flow reflects dynamical evolution in high-energy heavy ion collisions. In particular, the strange hadron elliptic flow reflects early collision dynamics [ 1]. We present results from a systematic analysis of the centrality dependence of strange hadron elliptic flow (v 2) measurement of K 0 S , Λ and Ξ for Cu + Cu collisions at 200 GeV. Results for Cu + Cu collisions are compared with...
متن کامل58Ni: an unpaired band crossing at new heights of angular momentum for rotating nuclei.
High-spin states in 58Ni have been investigated by means of the fusion-evaporation reaction 28Si(32S, 2p)58Ni at 130 MeV beam energy. Discrete-energy levels are observed in 58Ni at record-breaking 42 MeV excitation energy and angular momenta in excess of 30h. The states form regular rotational bands with unprecedented high rotational frequencies. A comparison with configuration dependent cranke...
متن کاملK ∗ ( 892 ) production in Au + Au and pp collisions at √ sNN = 200 GeV at STAR
Abstract Mid-rapidity K∗0(892)→ Kπ and K∗±(892)→ K0 Sπ are measured in Au+Au and pp collisions at √ sNN = 200 GeV using the STAR detector at RHIC. The K∗0(892) mass is systematically shifted at small transverse momentum for both Au+Au and pp collisions. The K∗0(892) transverse mass spectra are measured in Au+Au collisions at different centralities and in pp collisions. The K∗0(892) mean transve...
